Liberian President George Manneh Weah has dedicated the Daniel F. Tolbert Academy and Vocational Institute, a TVET School located in Kinjor Town, Darblo Clan, Gola Konneh District, Grand Cape Mount County, Western Liberia.
The construction of the school is part of Bea Mountain Mining Corporation’s obligation under the Resettlement Action Plan and the Mineral Development Agreement.
The school will be fully run and managed by the Government of Liberia with support from BMMC.
President Weah expressed his admiration for BMMC’s commitment to its corporate social responsibilities and recognized the company’s contribution to job creation, road rehabilitation, healthcare, education, and micro-loans.
Specifically, he highlighted BMMC’s rehabilitation of the Kinjor to Daniel’s Town Road and the construction of the TVET School in Kinjor.
The President thanked BMMC for their support and promised to continue working with the company for the benefit of all Liberians.
President Weah also called on the citizens of Grand Cape Mount County to collaborate with BMMC in further implementing development projects in their communities.
The Daniel F. Tolbert Academy and Vocational Institute will commence normal activities this year, catering to students in grades 10 to 12 with three initial TVET programs in Agriculture, Catering, and Information Technology IT.
