Monrovia, Liberia — February 5, 2026 — The Supreme Court of Liberia has summoned Justin Oldpa Yeazehn, widely known as “Prophet Key,” to appear before the Full Bench to respond to allegations that he may have acted in contempt of court.
According to an official citation issued by the Office of the Clerk of the Supreme Court and dated February 4, 2026, Yeazehn has been ordered to appear on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.
The court directive states that Yeazehn must “show cause why you should not be held in contempt of court” for what it described as a “continuous and sustained barrage of invectives” directed at the Chief Justice, the Supreme Court, and other members of the Bench. The letter further alleges that the remarks have exposed the Court to public ridicule and disrepute.
The citation was signed by Cllr. Sam Mamulu, Clerk of the Supreme Court of Liberia, acting under the directive of the Honorable Supreme Court.
It remains unclear what specific statements or incidents prompted the court’s action, and Yeazehn in a podcast Thursday when he made the citation public, noted that he will appear before the bench of the court.
Legal analysts note that contempt proceedings are typically initiated to protect the authority and integrity of the judiciary. If found in contempt, penalties can range from fines to possible imprisonment, depending on the severity of the offense.
The upcoming hearing is expected to draw significant public attention amid ongoing discussions about freedom of speech and respect for judicial institutions in Liberia.
