July 5, 2026 – Success A. Minor has resigned from his position as Secretary-General of the Association of Liberian Journalists in the Americas (ALJA), citing personal reasons that require his full attention.
According to a statement released on Sunday, Minor submitted his resignation in a letter addressed to ALJA President Joey Kennedy, informing the Association that his decision takes effect immediately following what he described as careful consideration.
In his resignation letter, Minor expressed appreciation to President Kennedy, members of the National Executive Committee, and the Association’s membership for the confidence reposed in him to serve in one of ALJA’s highest elected offices.
“Serving as Secretary-General has been a tremendous honor and privilege,” Minor stated, adding that the opportunity to serve the organization had been both professionally rewarding and personally fulfilling.
During his tenure, Minor worked closely with the Association’s leadership and members to advance professionalism, strengthen the organization, and uphold the principles of ethical journalism and public service among Liberian journalists in the diaspora.
Although stepping down from his elected position, Minor emphasized that he remains committed to ALJA and will continue to support the organization’s mission and objectives as a member.
“My commitment to the growth and success of ALJA remains unwavering,” he said.
Minor also thanked the Association for the support, collaboration, and camaraderie he received during his time in office, while extending his best wishes to President Kennedy, the National Executive Committee, and the general membership as they continue leading the organization.
His resignation officially brings an end to his tenure as Secretary-General but signals his intention to remain actively involved in the affairs of the Association.
The Association of Liberian Journalists in the Americas (ALJA) is a professional organization dedicated to promoting ethical journalism, defending press freedom, advancing professional development, and representing the interests of Liberian journalists and media practitioners across the Americas.
ALJA has not yet announced who will assume the responsibilities of Secretary-General following Minor’s resignation.
