How to report an error
Email kmtvlib@gmail.com with the article link, the statement you believe is incorrect, the reason it is incorrect, and any supporting evidence. Please include your name and contact information so we can follow up.
How we review requests
The newsroom reviews the published material, source notes and relevant evidence. When necessary, we contact the reporter, editor and people directly involved. Requesting a correction does not guarantee that a change will be made.
What we correct
We correct material errors involving names, dates, locations, quotations, figures, context, photographs and other verifiable facts. Minor spelling, grammar or formatting changes that do not alter meaning may be repaired without a formal notice.
How corrections appear
A substantial correction or clarification is added to the article with an explanation of what changed. When a report is fundamentally unreliable, KMTV may retract it and preserve a notice explaining why. We do not silently rewrite material facts.
Updates
Developing stories may change as new facts become available. An update that adds information without correcting an error may be marked as updated rather than corrected.
Complaints and appeals
If you disagree with a decision, reply with additional evidence and ask for editorial review. A senior editor who was not responsible for the original decision should review the appeal when practical.
Response time
We acknowledge correction requests as soon as reasonably possible. Complex matters may require additional time for verification, but urgent errors that could cause harm receive priority.
