President Joseph Nyuma Boakai on Thursday July 18, 2024 puts smile on the faces of baby mothers and children at the Japanese Maternity Center at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital when he donated assorted items to them.
The entire package of new born baby set to include, top, bucket, chair as well as babies toys among others were presented to the happy beneficieries who could not hide their joy in appreciation of the Liberian leader’s gesture to them.
The initiative by the President which was embraced by the many beneficieries is part of his way of identifying with needy during the festive season.
He said his government remains committed to catering to the people especially during such a time.
In a happy mood , one of the beneficieries, a young baby mother shower praises on President Boakai for what she described as a timely and meaningful gesture to them.
She further stated that the donated non food items to them will help reduce other plan financial burden on them especially for some of them that can’t afford during such a difficult time.
President Boakai and his delegation at the same time used the ocassion to tour the facility of the JFK.
Flanked by Dr. Dama Yekeson Koffa, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Administration and her team during the tour, the Liberian leader very energized inspected major components of the hospital.
According to him, he was impressed with the level of work done at the JFK especially with an able team led by Dr. Koffa.
He commended them for a job well done thus far and urged them to do more.
Speaking to reporters following the tour , President Boakai stressed that his government will do more to provide good and quality health services for its people.
The tour he stated was necessary because it has now given him the general idea of what is ongoing at the JFK and where necessary interventions can be made for the betterment of the nation and its people.
Reecholing further, he assured the public through the media that he is very concern and care a lot about the help needs of Liberians and his government is working gradually to address such key issue.
Meanwhile, President Boakai flanked by his Wife, First Lady Katumu Boakai during their tour were greeted with cheers and applause by doctors, nurses, patients including other health workers and officials respectively.
