Graced by the best of the best in the beautiful and fascinating Game, Football, Former World Footballer(1995) George Weah has hailed top coaches of the world for contributing immensely to his successful football career.
Weah speaking in Paris , France Monday evening at the 68th Ballon D’or Award ceremony particularly praised Fabio Capello and Arsene Wenger for improving his Game during his active days on the global stage.
“It was a difficult tasks for me coming from Africa, Liberia my Country to be specific to make it through, passing by great defenders, I appreciate the coaches especially God as I am today recorded in the history of Ballon D’or as one of the winners”, he told the gathering.
Weah informed the gathering that his extraordinary display on the pitch while his Country was at war then also help bring peace to Liberia.
The Former African, European and World Best player also responding to a question disclosed that he is attached to the game because, the game made him who he is today and he will never leave the game.
“Football Is My Life and Football makes me happy”, he re-emphasized.
The Former Liberian leader naming some of his favorite clubs to include; Ac Milan , Juventus , PSG, Atheltico Madrid, Spurs among others pointed out that even though he did not play for Juventus which he loved but is now glad that his son, Timothy Weah is playing for one of his favorite teams in Europe.
Additionally, he commended English and Bayern Munich Striker Harry Keane for what he described as his brilliant scoring ability as well as his strength quality and cleverness on the pitch among others that attracted he (Weah) to love and admire Keane as one of his best players especially when he played for Spurs.
He reechoed that he still plays the game mainly at his less busy time and also watch and enjoy the beautiful game.
Weah joined other past and current world class players in Paris to participate and present awards to outstanding players for their extraordinary performance and or display on the playing pitch including Harry Keane and Rodri , the top award winner.
Following his classic performance for both Manchester City and Spain , Rodri snatched out the Golden Award from Real Madrid tripple, Vini Junior, Jude Bellingham and Dani Carvajal respectively.
The creative Spanish midfielder is now the 68th winner of the prestigious French Award, the Ballon D’or Award previously won by other top stars including former Liberian leader, George Weah.
Meanwhile, Former President Weah was accompanied at the prestigious French Annual football ceremony by Former President of the Liberia Football Association and now Bomi County Senator , Edwin Melvin Snowe Jr, Former Commissioner General of the Liberia Maritime Authority, Lenn Eugene Nagbe and Former Chief of Protocol at the Executive Mansion, Amb. Nora Finda Bundoo among others.
