Juventus utility player and Son of former world best player, Timothy Weah clocked 25 years on today, February 22, 2025.
Tim as he is affectionately call continue to impress his fans back home and across the global through his outstanding performances on the competitive footballing stage.
Weah’s club Juventus is out of top European competition but his exceptional display prior to their exit from European competition did not go unnoticed especially by his fans as he fired home an on the volley right footed strike to level things out for his club against PSV Eindhoven before their unfortunate exit after extra time with a 4-3 aggregate on the night.
His ongoing splendid performance has triggered fans back home to celebrate him in his absence as he marked his 25th birthday.
Joined by fans and friends back home, to celebrate his son’s birthday, the former world player of the year, George Weah told reporters that he is proud of his son’s fire burn performances especially on the top global stage of football.
“He is fast, skillful, technical and he is versatile, He plays number 2, 3, 7 and 9, why more you want to see from him “, Weah asked reporters.
The former best player who despite many injuries sustained in europe at the peak of his career as a result of determination proved himself above his teammates and eventually won the best player award as the first and only African to win such prestigious award.
He however, hopes that his son will not experience similar injuries crisis like him even though his case was different.
” I broke my leg, hand, tooth and many others and all I wish for him as he celebrate his 25th birthday is long life and prosperity and complete injury free career and I wish more brilliant performances ahead”, he added.
Weah who commended the current breed of young talents in the Country especially those on the national team was also quick to urge the public not to compare their footballing generation to that of the current generation.
However, he encouraged the current youthful talents of Liberia home and abroad to remain focused and work harder in order for them to do better in their career especially on the bigger global stage.
“Be brave and strong enough to compete, be eager and always ready to go the extra mile to prove a point and make the difference”, he further encouraged Liberian players.
The former world best who acknowledged support as key to the game was also hasten to mention that you can even invest millions as support for a team but once the players are not prepared, it is a waste.
“For your financial support to be guaranteed, the players have to be prepared “, he re-emphasized.
Weah told reporters that even though they did not get the much needed support unlike now, they were prepared , strong and determine to play and they made the necessary difference.
The former Chief Patron of Sports also reaffirmed his interest for football especially with evidence of the construction of mini sporting facilities during his administration as former President of Liberia, something he stated the young talents are now using to train and to work in improving their games.
” I encourage you young talents to make use of these facilities, train well and be prepared in order to make a difference in your career “, he noted.
