The decision was taken by the house’s Joints committee on Concession, compliance and reviewed on Monday July 28, 2025 following a
motion proffered by Margibi County district #2 representative, Ivar K. Jones over the company’s refusal to appear before the committee for a scheduled hearing.

In the motion, rep. Jones maintained, that the company’s chief executive officer Mr. Brett Richards and his legal team should appear before the committee on Monday august 4, 2025 to state reasons why they should not be held in contempt for impeding the work of the Legislature.

Meanwhile, the house’s Joint Committee has instructed Humminbird to submit its financial statements for the past five years no later than Wednesday of this week.

Also speaking, the chairman of the house’s Joints committee, Representative Foday E. Fahnbulleh, emphasized the committee’s unwavering commitment to its oversight responsibilities.

“The Liberian people deserve accountability and transparency, especially in communities where these companies operate. We will remain resolute in upholding the integrity of the Legislature and ensuring compliance with the laws of the Republic, he added.
