The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah Sr. has underscored that Education is a powerful tool for transformation.
Speaking at the 42nd Graduation ceremony of the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary on Sunday, December 8, 2024 Amb. Kemayah said Education shapes the understanding of the world and equips an individual to address the complex challenges they face in their respective society today.
He told the graduates that each of them engaged in rigorous academic study, deepened their faith, and honed their ability to think critically and compassionately.
“These skills are essential as you step into roles that will influence lives and inspire change in your respective communities and the society in general”, he said.
The former former foreign Minister stressed that the world they are entering is filled with opportunities and challenges.
As educated leaders, he urged the graduates that they carry the responsibility to be agents of transformation.
“Your education has prepared you to confront issues such as inequality, injustice, and despair with knowledge, empathy, and faith. Remember that the true value of your education lies not just in what you have learned, but in how you apply that knowledge to uplift others and foster positive change in our society and the world at large”, he re-emphasized.
The Board of Trustees of the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary at the same time challengesd the graduates to commit to being lifelong learners and advocates for education within their respective communities and the Country as a whole.
Moreover, he called upon them to encourage others to pursue knowledge, and to seek understanding through the lens of faith.
“Your role as leaders in the church and society is vital in promoting a culture of learning, growth and development”, Congratulations, Class of 2024! May your journey ahead be filled with purpose and impact and as you embrace your calling, remember that you have the power to transform lives and communities through your faith and your education”, he reechoed .
The class of 2024 graduation, he pointed out is also it a moment of pride and joy for the institution.
The former Foreign Affairs Minister stressed that the dedication and hard work of the graduates inspire them all as they embark on their respective new journeys.
“This graduation, this year is particularly historic, as we celebrate, not only your achievements, but also the First-Ever Graduates of the Master of Arts Degree Program as an integral part of my Legacy as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary and that of the entire Board of Trustees; as well as the President of the Liberia Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention (LBM&EC), Rev. Dr. Samuel B. Reeves, Jr. and the President and Administration of this Seminary”, he said.
According to him, The milestone reflects the dedication and commitment of institution nothing that it is a testament to the vision of the seminary to provide advanced theological education.
“We are very pleased and honored that this monumental progress of this graduation, producing today, the First Ever Graduates of the Master of Arts Degree Program, which we started in September 2022 and happening under our watch as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary (LBTS)”, he noted.
He used the ocassion to extend his profound thanks and appreciation to the astute President of the Liberia Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention (LBM&EC), Rev. Dr. Samuel B. Reeves, Jr., the distinguished Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, Her Honor Judge Mother Trustee Eva Mappy-Morgan and all our esteemed Members of the Board of Trustees of the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary (LBTS) and our diligent President, Rev. Dr. Momolu Amstrong Massaquoi and the Administration, Faculty and Staff of the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary for joining him in the shared
vision and continuation of the actualization of said vision today with the First harvest of the Master of Arts Degree Program at this premier Seminary.
He at the same time used the ocassion to announced the re-appointment of Rev. Dr. Momolu Amstrong Massaquoi as President of the institution for a five-year term.
Meanwhile, over seventy students walked away with degress and certificates in pastoral studies, Theological programs among others.
