MINNESOTA – The Bomi County Association in the Americas (BOMI-USA) and the National Bomi County Association in the Americas (NBCAA) have announced Dr. Branko Saah Tambah Jr., a Liberian entrepreneur, humanitarian, author, and community leader, as the keynote speaker for their 2026 National Convention.
Dr. Tambah, a native of Bomi County, is expected to deliver the keynote address as Bomi citizens from across the United States gather to celebrate their shared heritage while discussing development initiatives for the county and Liberia as a whole.
Organizers say his selection reflects his longstanding commitment to public service, entrepreneurship, and community development both in Liberia and the United States.
From Bomi to International Recognition
Born and raised in Bomi County, Dr. Tambah began his education at Bomi Junior High School before attending C.H. Dewey High School. He later enrolled at the Booker Washington Institute (BWI), where he studied Building Construction Technology from 2000 to 2003, and continued his studies in Civil Engineering at the University of Liberia between 2008 and 2012.
Following his relocation to the United States in 2012, he furthered his education at Dakota County Technical College and Inver Hills Community College in Minnesota.
Humanitarian and Public Health Contributions
A survivor of Liberia’s civil war, Dr. Tambah served with the Liberian Red Cross, assisting communities affected by the conflict. He later worked with the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) from 2004 until 2012.
His engineering expertise also earned him an assignment with the World Health Organization (WHO), where he helped design and construct vital public health infrastructure, including the water tower at Bomi County Hospital as part of a broader healthcare initiative launched in 2007.
Successful Entrepreneur
Dr. Tambah is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tambah & Sons Construction and Services LLC, a family-owned construction company established in Liberia in 2007 before expanding to Minnesota in 2016.
Today, the licensed and insured company provides residential and commercial construction services throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area while maintaining a record of completing major projects in Liberia for institutions including Firestone Liberia and the Booker Washington Institute.
He also owns Prime Development & Real Estate LLC.
Champion for Community Development
Beyond business, Dr. Tambah is the Founder and CEO of the Tambah Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on empowering women and youth, promoting sustainable development, and supporting underserved communities in Liberia and the diaspora.
His community service includes serving as:
- Board Member, Eagan Community Foundation (2020–2025);
- Member, Eagan Police Department Community Affairs Team (2019–present);
- Former President, Dakota County Technical College Alumni Advisory Board (2017–2021); and
- Member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Presidential Search Advisory Committee.
Author and Advocate for Civility
Dr. Tambah is also an author. His book, Building the New Capacity: Vol. 1 (The Bridge Call Civility), published in January 2023, promotes leadership, civility, unity, and responsible community engagement.
The publication serves as the foundation for his Bridge Call Civility Initiative, which encourages collaboration and ethical leadership across communities.
Numerous Honors
Throughout his career, Dr. Tambah has received several national and international recognitions for his work in business, humanitarian service, and community leadership. His honors include an Honorary Doctorate in Humanity, World Civility Ambassador, World Citizen Award, Golden Rule Ambassador Award, Productive Business Award, Rise Award, and Alumni of the Year from Dakota County Technical College.
Convention organizers say his life story—from a young student in Bomi County and survivor of civil conflict to an internationally recognized entrepreneur and humanitarian—embodies resilience, service, and leadership, making him a fitting choice to deliver the keynote address at the 2026 BOMI-USA/NBCAA National Convention.
