Monrovia, Liberia – Liberia is set to host a landmark Fisheries Investment Conference, dubbed “Gathering”, aimed at transforming the country’s fisheries and blue economy sector.
The two-day conference will take place at the Farrington Hotel in Margibi County.
The event will bring together international and local stakeholders to showcase Liberia’s fisheries potential, discuss investment opportunities, and strengthen partnerships.
A Blue Marketplace will feature premium aquatic species, fisheries innovations, and advanced technologies such as Blue Tracker, an AI-powered monitoring system to combat illegal fishing.

The conference will feature thematic sessions on sustainable management, aquaculture investment, and environmental sustainability, among others.
President Joseph Nyuma Boakai is expected to launch a ten-year strategic plan for the fisheries sector and unveil major investment proposals, including a national industrial fishing fleet, an industrial fishing port, and an aquaculture project in Lofa County.
For his part, the Director General of NaFAA Hon. J. Cyrus Saygbe Sr. emphasized that the Gathering conference represents a major step in positioning Liberia’s fisheries and blue economy sector as a driver of economic growth, job creation, and sustainable national development.
The event is a collaboration between the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority and several government institutions, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthening the investment climate.
