Monrovia, Liberia—Liberia’s elections house, the National Elections Commission (NEC), has concluded an assessment tour at three of its magisterial offices in three Counties including, Grand Bassa, Rivercess, and Sinoe.

The visit is in continuation of an ongoing nationwide tour of all 19 election Magisterial offices, to assess key challenges facing the local electoral structures.

An NEC disclosure on her official Facebook handle says, the survey was carried out by NEC Commissioners to gain firsthand insight into the difficulties affecting operations at the local level and to explore possible means to address them.

Issues identified during the tour include, inadequate water supply, limited security personnel, lack of operational funds, and the need for solar power systems, among others.

NEC Chairperson, Davidetta Browne Lansanah, emphasized that the final phase of the tour will take place in Lofa County soon.

She also noted that the commission will provide the public with an official report highlighting findings from the visits to Sinoe, Rivercess, and Grand Bassa Counties.
