Liberia’s campaign for a Non-Permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council continues to remain in force with multiple planned engagements and activities geared towards ensuring that said ambitious dream becomes a reality.
With already dozens of engagements and negotiations done by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, including Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti and the likes, it appears that with such a historic opportunity, Liberia stands a very strong chance of securing a said seat.

MacDella Cooper, A successful bid will elevate the nation’s global profile and position Liberia as a key voice in shaping international peace and security in the world’s highest governance body.
Among other things, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is spearheading the campaign, which involves engaging with nations across the globe to garner the necessary votes.
In a drive to achieve such global tasks, sector heads believe that such effort requires broad-based support.
She used the occasion to rally all Liberians to play a very active and positive role in said endeavor.
As a means of garvinizing collective support and collaboration, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai will host a fundraising reception/ dinner in support of Liberia’s campaign.
The ceremony is expected to be graced by government officials, members of the diplomatic Corps, among others, all in strong and unwavering, for the realization of said global process.
Ahead of the fundraising program scheduled for May 3, 2025, Madam Cooper urged all Liberians to support the said key milestone initiative, stating that when Liberia wins, we all win. ”
“Let’s come together to make this a national victory,” Amb. Cooper reemphasized.
