Several Liberian women danced and sang following the launch of a Skill training and women empowerment program named and styled: Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah Sr. Women Empowerment and Skills Training Program.
The initiative to prioritize women of MOVEE will also benefit other women of Liberia.
The training expected to be roll out soon will target tailoring and Cosmotology for the first batch for a period of six months.
According to the Women Whig Chair, Angeline Gborie , the program will be run on an absolutely free off charge basis.
Launching the program was Mrs. Dialokai Golanyon Kemayah, wife of Amb. Kemayah, who rally the women to take advantage of the empowerment initiative.
She told the potential beneficiaries that if you empower a woman, you empower a nation, including helping to erraidicate poverty as well as building a vibrant society.
Mrs. Kemayah at the same appreciated her husband for creating such an empowerment opportunity for women of Liberia.
Moreover, she pointed out that Amb. Kemayah has over the years been in the vanguard of helping to empower women of the Country through skills training initiatives as such, said initiative is not thr first of its kind.
She used the ocassion to encourage the women of MOVEE and Liberia in general to make maximun use of such initiative in order to make them independent and productive in the society.
Hardship and lack of self empowerment are contributing to increasing poverty in Liberia but MOVEE she emphasized, is now in the vanguard to bridge the gap and help empower the women for the betterment of the Country.
“Enough is enough, it is time to help empower women of Liberia “, she re-emphasized.
Madam Kemayah also urged the women to take seriously such opportunity and learn to the best of their abilities in order to make a change in the Country.
“Let’s stand up, make the change , set the right right example for our children and it is not too late to learn “, she added.
The six months initiative she told the women will extend to other disciplines to include: Food preservation, soap making and event planning among others.
Also speaking at the program was the Chairman of the Opposition Coalition for Democratic Change, Janga Kowo who thanked the MOVEE for such a meaningful endeavor.
He said the initiative is key in helping to empower Liberian women in order for them to eventually take over their own economy stating that said empowerment is key and a first step in said direction.
CDC he inidcated is committed to totally transforming the Country as such self help empowerment initiative like these is a testament of the Party’s mission to improve the lives of its people.
Meanwhile, in a happy mood, several women appreciated the political leader of MOVEE for helping to empower and transform their lives.
They pledged to take maximum use of the opportunities in order to empower themselves and their communities respectively.
