STUDENTS ROBBED IN GBARNGA NIGHT ATTACK

Gbarnga, Bong County – Students from Rev. E. Washington Tarpeh Memorial Academy in Duala, Bushrod Island, were victims of a nighttime robbery in Gbarnga on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
The incident occurred at the Salvation Army (Paul A. Radar) High School campus, where the students had gathered for friendly kickball and football matches in that part of the county.
Reports indicate that a group of armed individuals, wielding cutlasses and other weapons, attacked the students and made off with approximately 11 mobile phones and other valuables.
The students and staff had traveled from Momboe Town, Bushrod Island, to participate in the sporting events aimed at fostering inter-school camaraderie.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported while the Liberia National Police in Gbarnga have launched an investigation into the incident, though no arrests have been made to date.
