The Security Director of the Liberian Senate Dyonisious Wisseh, has issued a stern warning to the staffer Association of the Liberian Senate against engaging in persistent and orthodox political activities at the grounds of the capitol building.
The Senate Security Director in a statement said, in as much as the capitol building is a political institution, it is advisable to refrain from this practice on the grounds of the capitol building to avoid confusion and bitter arguments that might eventually result in a confrontation and the deterioration of law and order.
Director Wisseh claimed that it has become the habit of the staffer Association to get involved in the use of insults and provocation on the grounds of the capitol.
He further cautioned the staffers of the Senate to hold their rally outside of the Capitol building.
The security statement follows an overwhelming Tuesday’s rally by the staffers that witnessed the endorsement of the Boakai Koung ticket in the joint chambers of the Legislature.
Meanwhile, Chairperson of Rules Order and Administration, Grand Bassa County Senator Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence, has called on the Senate Director of Security to retract the statement against holding a political rally at the Capitol, but according to our reporter since the senator made the statement the security has refused to adhere to the senator mandate
