August 10, 2024: Five hundred parents of school going young people from Grand Bassa County will be relief of the burden to pay tuition for their kids in High schools, Junior high school, Technical and vocational School as well as Universities as the Nyonblee cares foundation take on such responsibility.
The students only responsibilities will be keeping the grade points require for staying on the scholarship program sponsor by “The Nyonblee Cares Foundation” in collaboration with the office of Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, Pro Tempore of the Liberia Senate.
On Friday August 9,2024, several young people including parents representing their absent kids trooped into Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County and stood in long queues for hours at the fair ground to collect scholarship forms.
Forms collected were taken home to be filled in by the students, submitted to the scholarship committee chaired by Mr. Robert Stewart head of the Nyonblee Cares Foundation for vetting. Students’ who meet the requirement will be selected and sponsor at their various institutions of learning.
The scholarship program under ‘the Nyonblee cares Foundation’, incollaboration with the office of the Senate Pro-Tempore Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence is providing scholarship opportunities to over five hundred (500) deserving students from Grand Bassa County. This program is expected to be replicated in other counties including: Margibi, Lofa, Bong, Nimba Cape Mount amongst others.
Students in categories of High school, Grades 10th to 12th, University students, students interested in Technical and vocational education and exclusive girl education for girls in junior high school 7th to 10th grades are the targeted group.
Additionally, four scholarships will be awarded for education opportunities in China. This extensive scholarship program is part of Senator Lawrence’s commitment in the development of the minds of young people in becoming future leaders and productive citizens.
This is in addition to the existing 11 (eleven) scholarships for Rwanda to replace eight students there who are graduating two of which just returned to Liberia on Friday after completing their studies.
About the Nyonblee Care Foundation
The Nyonblee Cares Foundation is a registered, non-governmental, non-profit charitable organization established to improve the socio-economic welfare of marginalized, disadvantaged and vulnerable citizens of Liberia.

To provide educational scholarship and financial help to poor and disadvantaged people for their overall development through the Rev. Dr. Abba G. Karnga Education Scholarship Program.
To work for the uplifting of womens’ status in the society by providing opportunities for women and girls empowerment through the provision of employable skill trainings, micro-finance loan, and the construction of market buildings and meeting halls, especially in rural communities.
To generate citizens’ interest in the provision of community service, increase community access to safe drinking water and sanitation, and promote improved hygiene practices.
To assist the elderly, disabled, vulnerable and abandoned children by providing shelter and facilities, and subsidy for their welfare.
To organize forums, seminars, camps etc. for the spreading of good living habits, moral values, and methods of developing self-confidence, etc.
To create awareness of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) such as HIV/AIDS, etc., and to educate young people against teenage pregnancy, drugs and alcohol abuse.
