The Director General of the Civil Service Agency Josiah F. Joekai Jr. has disclosed the opening of a digital testing center in the Country soon.
The move according to Mr. Joekai is part of the new reform measures intended to among other things, promote merit base in the public sector.
As part of the process , he told a gathering at the launching program of the Global Village Institute of Computer Technology and Professional Program that a State of Art Center will be set up soon where potential applicants will go in an independent manner and form to do their test on computer.
“The test will be computer base with 85 job testable positions”, he added.
Speaking further, he explained that the CSA Director General will have no influence or part to play in the test rather, the test will be automatically generated alien with the selected positions by the applicants.
“Once you sit in the testing center on a computer and input the selected area of specialization and job position respectively, the test will appear in front of you and you will begin to take it while your score will be automatically send to you, if you are successful, you will instantly see your certificate but if you don’t, you will also see your results”, he narrated.
The process he stressed will be as transparent as possible and is intended to get the very best in line with merit base practice in the public sector.
He reechoed further that fairness in hiring and recruitment process will be based on merit in the public sector.
At the same time, he indicated that plans are also in the making to introduce credential evaluation process.
“It is about time that people credentials be evaluated in order to meet present day standards and practices “, he re-emphasized.
Under such process, the CSA boss stated that they will work with independent local and international firms to conduct the process void of interference.
Even though, I am the most hated man but the reform will work and we are committed to the process of transforming the system in the interest of the Country.
Mr. Joekai, who hailed President Boakai for reposing confidence in him to serve his people also pledged to work in line with the ARREST AGENDA in order to ensure that transparency and accountability in public sector backed by competence and merit based be the order of the day.
