President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has extolled the United States of America on the heels of its 248th Independence Anniversary Celebration during a reception dinner.

Speaking at the reception, President Boakai said the arms of Liberia are wide open to embrace the new era of productive and mutually beneficial relationship with America, its traditional ally.

” We join you as you savor your moment of clocking 248 years of existence a viable and exemplary Republic”, he added.

Offering a glass of toast to longivity, good health and all the best of the world to President Joseph Biden and the people of the USA, President Boakai hopes of more support to the people of Liberia to further deepening and expansion of the excellent, cordial and sustained relations between the two Countries.

“It is certainly a joyous occasion as we, in just a matter of days, witness the American people clocking almost two centuries and half years of statehood, while we, as a sisterly nation, are following closely to mark our 177th years as a Republic later in July”, he stated.

According to him, Liberia cannot sound enough its gratitude for the long, helpful, rewarding and promising relationship that has subsisted between the two Countries whilst reiterating Liberia’s commitment to further deepening and strengthening its relationship.

President Boakai told the gathering that from day one of the ushering in of his Administration, He came to view the moment as a golden opportunity for the opening of a new and clean chapter in the relationships of the two Countries.

“My expectation is that this relationship should be a period of honesty, respect, transparency, equity, and probity nothing that it would be a time that the fruits of our partnership go to directly and positively impact the conditions of our people and elevate the image of our country”, he noted.

The Liberian leader reassured the American people that his government has more than forcefully sounded in its determination to ensure that it will not indulge in business as usual.

” We pledge to lead by example and to ensure that the use of the products of our partnership bring relief and satisfaction to all who have invested in it”, he reechoed.
