The welfare and empowerment of the young people of Liberia continue to be one of the key focuses of this government.
Well, as part of said endeavor, the government of Liberia through relevant agencies is working tirelessly to create the necessary atmosphere and opportunities to help better the lives of the future leaders of Liberia.
Very concerned about the current conditions of At- Risk Youth, the government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports is instituing measures including lasting and practical solutions aimed at addressing such issues.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports acknowledging the urgency of the matter is making timely and frantic efforts to make swift intervention evidence of the high level visitation of the Youth Agriculture Training Center In Bensonville, Rural Montserrado County on February 21, 2025.
As massive work on the site is ongoing, the facility, upon completion, will help accommodate and rehabilitate At- Risk Youth.
Among other things, the focus is to further transform them into better and empowered future leaders .
Placing premier on the issue, a multi- sectoral insepction on the site was done and was led by Minister Cllr J. Cole Bangalu, along with his deputies and assistant ministers for TVET, respectively.
Taking a guarded inspection tour, Minister Bangalu and his team carefully inspected the ongoing renovation of the girls’ dormitory at the center.
Stressing the need to fast-track the ongoing work on the site, the Youth and Sports Boos was, however, pleased with the current developments.
The renovation of the girls’ dormitory at the Youth Agriculture Training Center is exclusively founded by the government and implemented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
With repeated visitations on the site and placing premier on the issue, it is expected that the work will be accelerated in order to ensure that the full implementation of the project by the government gets into action soon.
It can be recalled that the Youth Agriculture Training Center was established in 1978 as a result of a bilateral agreement between the Government of Liberia and the Federal Republic of Germany to provide entry-level training in general agriculture to rural youth, thereby helping to reduce rural-urban migration.
