Kakata, Liberia – The Booker Washington Institute (BWI) has been designated as the national training center for Liberia’s Yellow Machines Program, a government initiative aimed at building local capacity in operating and maintaining heavy earth-moving equipment.
The program is part of the government’s efforts to invest in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and support national infrastructure projects.
Speaking with reporters in the county, BWI Principal Dr. Nancy T. Freeman expressed gratitude to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. for selecting the institution for this role.
A technical team from the Yellow Machines Board of Authority (YMBOA) visited BWI to assess its facilities and capacity to train equipment operators.
Dr. Freeman however emphasized BWI’s commitment to supporting the government’s development goals through practical, high-quality technical training.
The partnership is seen as a milestone for Liberia’s technical education and infrastructure development.
