Paynesville, Liberia – Reports reaching KMTV newsroom says, a devastating fire early Saturday morning, has claimed the lives of three children in the Duport Road community.
The incident is reported to have occurred behind the Action Faith Campus in the Duport Road area of Paynesville.
According to a local news outlet, Variety Online News, eye witnesses explained, the fire broke out suddenly and spread rapidly through a residential structure, engulfing the building, before emergency services could arrive.
The children, who were reportedly trapped inside, did not survive.
Authorities have not yet released the names or ages of the victims, pending official identification and notification of their families.
This heartbreaking tragedy adds to a rising number of fire-related incidents in Montserrado County, particularly in densely populated communities like Duport Road.
Residents have voiced growing concerns about the frequency of these events, citing poor electrical infrastructure, limited fire safety awareness, and delayed emergency response as key contributing factors.
Meanwhile, grief-stricken residents are appealing to the government and humanitarian organizations for urgent support and stronger fire prevention measures to help protect vulnerable communities.
