Ex- Mines and Energy Minister Wilmot Paye Accuses VP Koung of Orchestrating Unity Party Split Through Thomas Fallah and New “NIMBO” Faction

MONROVIA – Former Minister of Mines and Energy Wilmot Paye has alleged that an internal effort is underway to fracture the ruling Unity Party and establish a separate political movement under the name “NIMBO.”

Appearing Tuesday on Spoon Talk, Paye claimed Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung Sr. is allegedly working through Deputy House Speaker Thomas Fallah to build the new group, which Paye said is intended to either break away from the Unity Party or seize control of it ahead of future elections.

The Unity Party, led by President Joseph Boakai, won the 2023 presidential election on a joint ticket with Koung as running mate.

Since taking office in January 2024, the UP-led government has faced internal debates over direction and influence within the party structure.
