In the wake of the appointment of a new President at the State Run, University of Liberia, the former Director General at the National Commission on Higher Education Education Dr. Michael P. Slawon has penned down an open Letter to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai recommending and endorsing Dr. John T. Wulu as the new President of the University of Liberia.
As one of the government’s development plans with focus on education under the ARREST AGENDA, the Liberian educator believes that the addition of Dr. Wulu in said key position will help buttress President Boakai’s commitment to academic excellence and transformation within the sector .
In his open letter to President Boakai, the seasoned Liberian educator said Dr. Wulu’s qualifications, expertise and experience including innovative approach to addressing critical issues positions him to tackle the multifaceted challenges facing the University of Liberia.
“Furthermore, his deep understanding of Liberia’s educational landscape,combined with virtual learning and revitalizing key academic disciplines ,such as agriculture, health sciences, leadership acumen,and cross-cultural competence will undoubtedly benefit the University of Liberia “, he re-emphasized.
The former National Commission on Higher Education Boss narrated that he had the privilege of witnessing Dr.Wulu’s profound exceptional leadership in roles such as Senior Management & Program Analyst at the U.S. his global perspective, positions him as the ideal candidate to lead the University into a newera, he assured the Liberian leader.
He stated that Dr.Wulu’s vision for the University of Liberia in transforming it into a world-class and fostering partnerships to secure both local and international support makes him unmatched to that of other candidates.
“His emphasis on embracing
infrastructure development, faculty and staff capacity building, curriculum modernization,and
of excellence and relevance among others “, he reechoed.
Dr. Slawon’s open letter to the Chief Executive also highlighted Dr. Wulu’s characterist marked by integrity, dedication, and a profound commitment to
service.
“He is not only a visionary leader but also a compassionate mentor who values the
University of Liberia as well as his exemplary qualifications, strategic vision, and unwavering dedication including his
ability to inspire and mobilize others around a shared visionand and I have no doubt in recommending and endorsing him as President of the University of Liberia in order to help further improve and advance the sector into a brighter future especially with collaboration and inclusivity”, he noted.
As a sector, the letter indicated that Dr. Wulu has exceptional ability to engage diverse stakeholders, inspire collective
qualities Enforcement, and as an adjunct professor at several prestigious institutions
that are essential for leading Liberia’s premier institution.
“His extensive institution is not only ambitious but also deeply rooted in actionable goals, His proposed continental and or large professional pedigree speaks volumes, His impressive credentials include a Ph.D.in Biostatistics advanced degrees Beyond his academic qualifications, Dr. Wulu has consistently demonstrated professionalism and it is
with unwavering confidence that I write to recommend Dr. Wulu to the position of President of the University of Liberia.
He emphasized that Dr. Wulu is a distinguished scholar and accomplished administrator whose academic and from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, an MBA from the University of Maryland Department of Homeland Security, Chief Statistician at DHS Immigration and Customs and his extensive teaching career have equipped him with a unique blend of analytical expertise, seasoned higher education professional and former Director General of Liberia’s National experience in strategic planning,data governance,and educational administration.
Slawon in his open letter to President Boakai explained that he has uniquely, collaborated with Dr.Wulu on initiatives aimed at improving Liberia’s education action,and deliver measurable results.
