MONROVIA, Montserrado County, – The Government of Liberia has taken delivery of another shipment of heavy-duty “yellow machines” as it pushes forward with plans to deploy 285 pieces of equipment for nationwide infrastructure development.
The latest batch arrived this week and is being transported to Camp Sandee Ware Military Barracks in Careysburg, Montserrado County, where officials will formally receive and store the equipment before deployment to public works sites across the country.
Government officials said the equipment will support road construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance, as well as other public works projects aimed at improving access to markets, clinics, and schools.
The acquisition forms part of a broader strategy to expand road connectivity and stimulate economic activity in rural and urban communities.
The 285-machine fleet is intended to strengthen Liberia’s capacity to undertake critical infrastructure projects without overreliance on foreign contractors.
Once deployed, the equipment is expected to accelerate work on deteriorated roads and open up feeder routes that have long isolated farming communities.
