Report says, three Staffers of the National Elections Commission are currently in Police custody for allegedly changing figures of tally sheets from the Weaju Town’s Precinct in Grand Cape Mount County.
The three individuals were arrested and turned over to the Police by a local authority of the NEC on Monday, October 16, 2023.
Among those involved are Patience Woniyou and Phillip Zodoua, Electoral Supervisors as well as Sonja R. Max, Presiding Officer.
The accused individuals are alleged to have changed figures of the tally sheets in favor of the CDC Representative Candidate, Bintu Mansaray, and Independent senatorial candidate, Victor V. Watson.
Our Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent said tensions intensified in the County following the arrest of the three Individuals.
They have been left with the Police for investigation
The primary objective of their alleged action was to uncover the extent of their involvement and assess the potential impact on the electoral process.
Joseph Kiazolu, Cape Mount’s Elections Magistrate confirmed that the accused individuals tampered with the results from the Weaju Town precinct.
Magistrate Kiazolu has reassured his commitment to protecting their democratic decisions until the pronouncement of all the results.
