MDR Faces Internal Test as Nimba District One Hopeful Rainy Wonyen Charisma Cooper Urges Party to Expel Sen. Kogar for Disrespecting Leadership

MONROVIA, Montserrado County – Mr. Rainy Wonyen Charisma Cooper, Nimba District one hopeful and one of the oldest member of the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction, has called on the MDR to immediately expel Senator Samuel G. Kogar, arguing that his continued membership damages the party’s image, unity, and credibility.

In a statement released Tuesday, Cooper said Senator Kogar has chosen a path inconsistent with the values, discipline, and principles of the MDR.”

He argued that no individual should place themselves above the institution that provided the platform for their political ascent.

“If Senator Kogar believes he is strong enough to challenge the very institution that helped elevate him politically, then the institution must demonstrate that it is bigger than any individual,” Cooper stated.

Cooper described the Vice President as the MDR’s “flagship leader and one of its greatest political assets,” and condemned what he called open disrespect toward senior officials by a senator elected under the party’s banner.

“We cannot remain silent while a senator elected under the influence and support of this party openly disrespects our leadership and undermines our senior officials,” he said.

The Special Aide stressed that political parties survive through discipline, loyalty, and respect for collective decisions.

He alleged that Senator Kogar has repeatedly shown a lack of commitment to the party’s policies, doctrines, and leadership.

“A party that tolerates indiscipline risks creating internal divisions and weakening its future political strength,” Cooper warned.

“For the sake of the unity, dignity, and future of the MDR, the time has come for the party to send a clear message: no member, regardless of status or position, is greater than the party.

If we fail to defend our institution today, we risk compromising its strength tomorrow,” he asserted.
