New Generation Rehabilitation & Health Care Center Liberia to Break Ground for 50-Bed Health Care and Rehabilitation Facility in Laykata Township, margibi county.

New Generation Rehabilitation & Health Care Center Liberia has announced plans to break ground for the construction of a 50-bed Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Laykata Township, aimed at improving healthcare delivery and social support services in the area.

Site clearing is currently  ongoing approximately 10 acres of land, part of which will be developed for the rehabilitation and healthcare project. The facility will provide shelter, rehabilitation services, and medical care, with a special focus on pregnant women living on the streets, helping to remove them from unsafe conditions and provide proper care, feeding, and accommodation.

Hon. Alex B. Lansanah

Speaking during a preliminary ceremonial engagement with local leaders, the Regional Director of New Generation Rehabilitation & Health Care Center Liberia, Hon. Alex B. Lansanah, informed the public that the organization has resumed work on the project in Laykata Township. He emphasized that the institution operates largely on a humanitarian and charitable basis, with a mission centered on protecting vulnerable women and improving public health outcomes.

The project is described as an international initiative, supported by partners both within and outside Liberia. The planned center will include 50 bedrooms dedicated to rehabilitation services, while a separate healthcare section will focus on maternal health and general medical care, particularly for pregnant women.

Although a specific date has not yet been announced, the official groundbreaking ceremony is expected to take place soon, as final preparations and international engagements are completed. Stakeholders and partners will be formally notified once arrangements are concluded.

The organization has called on local and national leaders, including the District Representative, Superintendent, and Senator of the area, to support the project, noting that it is intended to benefit the community and Liberia at large. International partners and stakeholders have also been encouraged to lend their support to ensure the successful completion of the initiative.

The initial ceremony marked the organization’s effort to formally engage community leaders and identify with local authorities as preparations move forward for the full-scale groundbreaking and construction phase.
