“NO EBOLA, NO COVER-UP” – PIAH DISMISSES OUTBREAK RUMORS, SAYS GOV’T NOT LIABLE FOR RIA DRUG CASE

MONROVIA, Montserrado County – Information Minister Jerolinmek Matthew Piah has dismissed rumors of an Ebola outbreak in Liberia and pushed back against public criticism of the Ministry of Health and the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) following a recent drug-related incident at Roberts International Airport (RIA).

Addressing the Ministry of Information’s regular press briefing Tuesday, Minister Piah said claims that Liberia is experiencing an Ebola outbreak are “false” and urged citizens to rely on official health channels for accurate information.

On the airport drug case, Piah stated that the government is not responsible for the alleged incident at RIA.

He criticized what he described as premature accusations against state institutions before investigations conclude.

He stressed the need for citizens to avoid spreading unverified claims that undermine public confidence.
