On behalf of Team Stand Liberia, I extend my sincere and deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the resounding success of this year’s reading competition. We were truly inspired by the enthusiastic participation and exceptional talent displayed by all the young readers.
Their dedication and passion for literature are commendable and a testament to the bright future of Liberia.
This impactful initiative was made possible through the invaluable support and collaborative spirit of several esteemed institutions and dedicated individuals. We owe immense respect and appreciation to the following for their crucial contributions:
• The Paynesville City Corporation
• IRISE Project Liberia
• LEP
• FRONTPAGE Africa
• The Liberian Investor
• Kings and Queen International School
• NEPS
• Smart Traders International
• Champion Academic
• Golden Eagle
• Design Palace
• Eduthink Afrika
• YMA
• GFS
• The proud parents of Team Stand Liberia
• The dedicated volunteers of the Student Reading Council (SRC)
• And to the peace-loving citizens of Liberia for their unwavering encouragement and support of our youth.
Your commitment to our vision of fostering literacy and empowering young minds has been instrumental in the realization of this project. We are deeply grateful for your partnership.
A special recognition goes to our talented winners in the senior high division: Melvin P. Yenay of Senior High, who secured 1st place; Naomi C.O. Kpukuyou, who achieved 2nd place; and Palyne Payne, who earned 3rd place. Congratulations on your outstanding achievements!
In the elementary division, we also celebrate our champions: Cleopatra Herbert, who took 1st place; Imani C. Davis, who placed 2nd; and Joyous F. Kooker, who achieved 3rd place. Your passion for reading is truly inspiring!
Finally, in the junior high division, we commend our winners: Amelia Sipor, who earned 1st place; Jennie S. Shammah, who placed 2nd; and Joyce Saigbeh, who achieved 3rd place. Well done on your impressive performances!
To all the participants who poured their hearts into this competition, please remember that a true winner is not defined solely by the final ranking, but by the courage to try and the perseverance to keep going. If you didn’t achieve the result you hoped for this year, we wholeheartedly encourage you to come back and try again next year. Your dedication and effort are what truly matter, and every attempt brings you closer to your goals.
As we celebrate the success of the reading competition, I am also excited to announce the upcoming launch of our next vital program: The CARS Summit – Children Against Rape and Sexual Violence Summit. This crucial initiative aims to gather 100 young people, students aged 8 to 19 years, to foster a deeper understanding of sexual violence and equip them with knowledge on how to avoid such situations. We firmly believe in empowering our youth with the information and tools they need to stay safe. We are actively seeking partnerships with schools to make this summit a resounding success and encourage interested institutions to reach out to us.
Furthermore, in our ongoing commitment to community development, Team Stand Liberia will be conducting a city-wide awareness campaign in Johnsonville, championed by the Paynesville City Corporation (PCC). This initiative will focus on propagating the significance of keeping our city clean and promoting adherence to its ordinances. We believe in the importance of civic responsibility and creating a healthy environment for all.
To the young and aspiring readers across Liberia, I strongly encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to participate in our reading competition in the coming years. This platform offers a valuable space to showcase your talents, build confidence, and connect with a community that champions the power of reading.
Furthermore, I extend a sincere invitation to schools, organizations, and individuals to consider partnering with us as sponsors in future competitions and in our upcoming CARS Summit and Johnsonville awareness campaign. Your support is vital in our collective effort to nurture the intellectual growth and safety of Liberia’s next generation and cultivate a strong sense of civic responsibility.
Team Stand Liberia, under my leadership, remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting literacy, safeguarding our children, and fostering community development in Liberia. We are excited about the impact of our upcoming programs and look forward to continued collaboration.
Thank you once again to every single person and institution that played a part in making this year’s reading competition a resounding success. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of Liberia’s youth and our communities.
Sincerely,
Sir. Sean Enoch Zokruah
Executive Director, Team Stand Liberia
Mr. Zokruah STAND Liberia
