Ahead of the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., Mrs. Kartumu Y. Boakai, along with other members of the Liberian delegation have landed in Bali, Indonesia.
The Liberian leader and his high power delegation will among other things participate in the IAF.
The delegation arrived in Bali, Indonesia after a very long journey on August 31, 2024 and are poised to participate in the forum which is expected to take place
at the Mulia Hotel in Bali from September 1 – 3, 2024.
Among other things, President Boakai will address the Joint Leaders Session of the forum, sharing the stage with other leaders including Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana, Russell Mmiso Dlamini, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Eswatini, Xanana Gusmao, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, among several other African leaders.
Additionally, President Boakai is also scheduled to meet with his Indonesian counterpart, Outgoing President Joko Widodo, as well as the incoming President Prabowo Subianto.
At the same time, the Liberian Leader will engage with executives of the Golden Veroleum (GVL) Company, the oil palm Company which is operating in the Liberian Southeast County of Sinoe.
Moreover, members of the delegation will also speak at separate sessions and engage key leaders in the agriculture, food security, education, technology and investments.
The 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum aims at strengthening economic cooperation between Indonesia and African nations, building on the success of the inaugural event in 2018.
Held under the theme of “Bandung Spirit for Africa’s Agenda 2063,” the forum will emphasize shared values and principles to establish enduring and inclusive relations between Indonesia and Africa.
The gathering is not just a platform for dialogue; it endeavors to make tangible contributions to both societies. By bringing together high-level government officials, business leaders, academicians, and other stakeholders from Indonesia and Africa, the forum seeks to foster collaboration, exchange ideas, and lay the groundwork for substantial economic cooperation.
The President’s Official Delegation also includes Sylvester Grisgsby, Minister of State for Presidential Affairs; Mamaka Bility, Minister of State Without Portfolio; Dr. Alexander Nuetah, Minister of Agriculture; and Nathanial Barway, Representative District #1, Grand Kru County.
The 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum has garnered widespread participation from 47 African countries and is anticipated to result in meaningful collaboration and agreements between Indonesia and the African nations in attendance.
Meanwhile, The President and delegation will depart Bali, Indonesia on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 for the People’s Republic of China to attend the Forum for China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
