MONROVIA, Liberia – July 30, 2026 – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has ordered the dismissal, suspension, and prosecution of several senior government officials and law enforcement officers as his administration intensifies its crackdown on narcotics trafficking and organized criminal networks.
The sweeping actions, announced Thursday by the Executive Mansion, follow the President’s review of the latest investigative reports into two major cocaine seizures, including the confiscation of 198 plates of processed cocaine at Roberts International Airport (RIA) and the seizure of 3,971 plates of cocaine from properties linked to two foreign nationals.
According to the Executive Mansion, the measures are intended to reinforce accountability, strengthen the rule of law, and ensure that public officials uphold the highest standards of integrity.
Senior Officials Dismissed
With immediate effect, President Boakai dismissed three senior officials from their respective positions:
- Mark Egon Kuiah, Deputy Director for Operations, Roberts International Airport;
- Johnny Bolar Dean, Commissioner of Police for Criminal Investigation, Intelligence and INTERPOL; and
- Patrick Doe, Deputy Director for Administration, National Security Agency (NSA).
The President also recalled Patrick Komasu (702) from his assignment with the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), suspended him without pay, and ordered that he be placed under investigation.
More Officials Removed Over Cocaine Cases
President Boakai further ordered the immediate dismissal of government employees and law enforcement officers indicted in connection with the ongoing narcotics investigations.
Those dismissed include:
- Mohammed O. Gbowrah, Director of Security, Roberts International Airport; and
- Moses Jallah, Deputy Commander, Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency at Roberts International Airport.
Police Officers Fired
The President also dismissed two officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) accused of using official government vehicles to transport a narcotics consignment from Vincent Town along the Bomi Highway to the vicinity of Mega Mart in Thinker Village, Paynesville.
They are:
- Anthony T. Blaye; and
- Wadell W. Kwarbo.
Officials to Face Prosecution
In addition to the dismissals, President Boakai ordered the immediate termination of four public officials and directed that they be handed over to the Ministry of Justice for prosecution.
Those named are:
- Jammel V. Jallah, Agent, National Security Agency;
- Christian L. Nyantee, Agent, National Security Agency;
- Caycee Nelson, Procurement Director, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection; and
- Albenigo Janior, Agent, National Security Agency.
“No One Above the Law”
According to the Executive Mansion, President Boakai said the actions demonstrate his administration’s determination to ensure that no public servant engaged in criminal conduct remains in government service.
The President reaffirmed that the government will enforce the law “without fear or favor” and hold accountable anyone found to have participated in narcotics trafficking or related criminal activities.
He also directed all security and law enforcement agencies to intensify their investigations and ensure that every individual connected to the ongoing drug cases is brought before the courts in accordance with due process.
Government Vows Sustained Crackdown
The Executive Mansion said the latest actions underscore the government’s commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks, strengthening national security, and protecting Liberia’s international reputation.
The statement assured the public that the Boakai administration will continue to take all lawful measures necessary to combat narcotics trafficking and preserve the integrity of Liberia’s public institutions.
