“No One Is Above The Law”: President Boakai Orders Mass Dismissals and Prosecutions, Sacks Top RIA, Police and NSA Officials Over $336M Narcotics Scandal

MONROVIA, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has ordered the immediate dismissal, suspension, and prosecution of several senior government and security officials linked to ongoing narcotics trafficking investigations, in what the Executive Mansion calls the administration’s most decisive action yet against drug-related corruption.
The directive follows President Boakai’s review of the latest status report on major drug seizures, including 198 plates of processed cocaine intercepted at Roberts International Airport and 3,971 plates confiscated from the premises of two foreign nationals.
Top Officials Dismissed and Suspended
With immediate effect, the President has dismissed:
Mr. Mark Egon Kuiah, Deputy Director for Operations, Roberts International Airport [RIA]
Mr. Johnny Bolar Dean, Commissioner of Police for Criminal Investigation, Intelligence and INTERPOL
Mr. Patrick Doe, Deputy Director for Administration, National Security Agency [NSA]
The President also recalled, suspended without pay, and ordered investigation of Mr. Patrick Komasu , who was seconded to the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency [LDEA].[702]
President Boakai further ordered the dismissal of all government employees and law enforcement officers indicted in connection with the two major cocaine seizures.
Those dismissed include:
Mohammed O. Gbowrah, Director of Security, Roberts International Airport
Moses Jallah, Deputy Commander, LDEA, Roberts International Airport
Two Liberia National Police officers accused of using government vehicles to transport narcotics from Vincent Town, Bomi Highway to Thinker Village, Paynesville were also dismissed:
Anthony T. Blaye
Wadell W. Kwarbo
NSA and Gender Ministry Officials Ordered for Prosecution.
The President directed the immediate dismissal and forwarding to the Ministry of Justice for prosecution of:
Jammel V. Jallah, Agent, NSA
Christian L. Nyantee, Agent, NSA
Albenigo Janior, Agent, NSA
Caycee Nelson, Procurement Director, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection
President Boakai said the actions reflect his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on narcotics and public corruption.
These actions demonstrate this Administration’s resolve to ensure that no public official or government employee who engages in criminal conduct remains in public service,” the President stated.
“The Government will continue to enforce the law without fear or favor.”
He has directed all security and law enforcement institutions to intensify investigations and ensure that every individual connected to the cases is brought before the courts in accordance with due process.
The Executive Mansion assured Liberians that the Government will continue to take “all lawful and necessary measures to combat narcotics trafficking, dismantle criminal networks, strengthen national security, and safeguard the integrity and international reputation of the Republic of Liberia.
