VP Koung Attends Meet & Greet Event in US, Receives Proclamation Plaque, Hails For Invaluable Contribution To Liberia

Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung has held a one day Meet and Greet engagement with Disapora Liberians in the United States of America.

During the event VP Koung share his insights about government plans as well as strengthening ties between Liberia and its global citizens.

The event desrcibed as wonderful saw the Liberian Vice President interacting with Liberians at the Miracle Conference Center Reception Hall in Laurel, MD.

“It was a memorable occasion filled with inspiring words, connections, and shared commitment to Liberia’s progress, Thanks to you all who made this event a success”, VP Koung added.

During the event VP Koung received an overwhelming welcome from the leadership of LCA-DMV, led by President Sebastian Teclar and Council woman Wala Blegay.

Speaking at the brief event Council woman Blegay presented a proclamation plaque to the Vice President on behalf of the city’s council and leadership.

The council woman in her remarks recognized VP Koung’s invaluable contribution to Liberia’s growth and development.

At the same time, LCA-DMV Boarding Chair Felix Wilson speaking on behalf of the board emphasized the importance of community engagement and unity among Liberians in the diaspora.

Meanwhile, The Meet and greet event was hosted by the Liberian Community Association of the DMV (LCA-DMV).

The women of Liberia will join their counterparts around the world to celebrate the International Women’s Day 2025, under the Global Theme: “Accelerate Action” and National Theme: “Accelerate Action to end Gender Based Violence and Achieve Gender Equality in Liberia”. In 1997, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 32/142 proclaiming 8th of March of each year as International Women’s Day to be observed by Member States in accordance with their historical and national traditions. The Government of Liberia, being cognizant of its obligation to ensure equal status for men and women in society without discrimination, has ratified the Convention on “The Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women”, reflecting its commitment to gender equality and equity through its national reconstruction and development program
