The growing presence of private healthcare facilities in Liberia is gradually transforming the nation’s health and wellness landscape, with more options for citizens seeking better medical services. One of the latest additions is the Wellness Partners Medical Center (WPMC), which officially opened its doors in the Congo Town area.
The center aims to address the critical healthcare gap in the country by offering top-notch, affordable medical care to all.
The inauguration of WPMC marks a pivotal moment in Liberia’s healthcare sector, with the center’s mission focused on delivering comprehensive, compassionate services to every patient.
Addressing the gathering at the opening ceremony, Dr. Nicole Cooper, the Medical Director of WPMC, vowed to provide world-class care that aligns with global standards. Dr. Cooper emphasized her commitment to patient-centered care, ensuring that the facility’s environment promotes both medical excellence and compassion.
“Here at Wellness Partners, we are dedicated to providing healthcare that values the person as much as the patient. The Wellness Partners Medical Center is poised to play a key role in advancing Liberia’s healthcare system, offering accessible, quality medical care to all”, said Dr. Cooper.
WPMC offers a wide range of services, including general and specialist outpatient care, laboratory testing, imaging (X-ray and ultrasound), pharmacy services, and international patient coordination.
The facility is also equipped to provide observation and clinical procedures, ensuring a full spectrum of medical attention for its patients.
A major highlight of the opening ceremony was the announcement of a strategic partnership with TopUpCare, a U.S.-based healthcare company.
Dr. Cooper shared that this collaboration will allow Liberian families to prepay for essential preventive care, improving health outcomes and significantly reducing the need for medical tourism. Additionally, the partnership offers health packages that provide access to critical services such as cancer screenings and treatment, both for Liberians at home and those living abroad.
The grand opening concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by Dr. Cooper and other key healthcare partners, while attendees expressed excitement about the new facility and its potential to transform healthcare in the country.
