Liberia to Host Major Private Sector Focused Investment Summit

By Margret Nyumah-

Monrovia, Liberia: Liberia has announced its preparedness to host the 2025 national Investment conference.

Slated for 15-18, July 2025, at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, the event endeavors to place the private sector at the heart of national development priorities.

Speaking at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism regular News conference on Thursday, July 10, 2025, William Anderson, CEO of NOVA Africa Venture Group explained, the event is a call to action for local and international investors, and will mark a strategic shift away from traditional reliance on donors aid.

“This conference is a performance-driven platform aimed at attracting sustainable investments in sectors that matter most, including agriculture, aviation, fintech, infrastructure, and natural resources,” Anderson explained.

This year’s theme, “Performance, Strategy, and Partnership for Sustainable Development,” mirrors a broader economic agenda led by both NOVA and the government of Liberia.
The initiative enjoys strong support from the office of the Vice President, with international agencies such as UNDP, as well as  UNECA.

Anderson revealed that several global firms, including Jitex Aviation, Geneco, and the Arkansas River Rice Mill Group, will join Liberian businesses at the summit to discuss critical matters relevant to attaining good results and best practices in the private sector.

This diverse group comprising  multi-sectorial stakeholders aims to tackle Liberia’s rice production gap, boost agri-businesses, and empower youth with technical skills.

The announcement comes as President Joseph Nyuma Boakai continues his U.S. economic mission, promoting Liberia as a credible and resource-rich destination for foreign direct investment.

Anderson used the platform to urge the media and civil society to support a positive national image-stating, when we portray Liberia as a trustworthy and serious nation, investors take notice.

According to him, the real impact will be seen in job creation, technical training, and economic empowerment, particularly for farmers, entrepreneurs, and young professionals.
