The Margibi County Police detachment has received three Qingqi motorcycles from the Liberian National police to support police operations and enhance security across the county. Each motorcycle is valued at approximately US$1,700 and is intended to improve police mobility, especially in hard-to-reach communities.
The motorcycles were officially turned over to the police and have already been placed into active service. The donation comes at a time when the county police have faced serious transportation challenges, which previously made it difficult to respond promptly to incidents and patrol remote areas.
Speaking on the development, CSP Arthur K. Jarvey, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Margibi County Police Detachment, expressed appreciation to the Liberian National police authority for its continued efforts to support effective policing across the country. He noted that the motorcycles will significantly enhance the ability of officers to carry out their duties and improve security for citizens throughout the county.

During an interview with KM TV, the Chief of Operations of the Margibi County Police detachment, James Wolobah, also thanked the Liberian National police for the support and emphasized the importance of mobility in effective law enforcement. He explained that Margibi County has long struggled with limited transportation for police officers.
According to him, the lack of vehicles in the past affected routine patrols and delayed responses to crimes, particularly in areas far from the county headquarters. The arrival of the motorcycles is expected to strengthen crime prevention efforts and increase police visibility in communities that rarely see regular patrols.
Although the three motorcycles are not sufficient to cover the entire county, police leadership believes they will make a meaningful impact. The motorcycles will be properly managed and distributed across different parts of the county, including Upper and Lower Margibi, to ensure broader coverage.
Chief Wolobah further explained that the motorcycles are being decentralized and assigned to various districts to enable quicker and more effective responses to security concerns. Deport commanders were present during the turnover ceremony to receive the motorcycles on behalf of their respective communities.
He also stressed the importance of proper maintenance and responsible use to ensure the motorcycles provide long-term benefits. The Margibi County Police detachment remains committed to improving security and working closely with the community and citizens to maintain peace and safety throughout the county.
