YOUTH AND SPORTS MINISTRY CACKLES DOWN ON CORRUPTION: Top MVTC Officials Suspended Amid Probe, Interim Team Installed

Paynesville, Liberia –In a move underscoring its commitment to accountability and transparency, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has suspended three senior officials of the Monrovia Vocational Training Center (MVTC) pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
The suspended officials include Mr. Wilfred Payne, Director of MVTC; Mr. Hamilton Faryah, Finance Officer; and Mr. Kenneh Lawson, Admissions Officer.
The suspensions, which take immediate effect, are part of the Ministry’s efforts to ensure the effective delivery of technical and vocational education services across Liberia.
According to the Ministry, an investigation into the matter is underway and expected to be completed within one month.
To ensure the uninterrupted operation of MVTC, the Ministry has appointed interim officials to key positions. Mr. Alieu Kemokai has been named Acting Director General for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), while Mr. Cyrus Zizi will serve as Acting Director of MVTC.
Additionally, Mr. Kaema Jones has been appointed Acting Administrator of the institution.
In an official released issued on Monday, April 6, 2026, the Ministry emphasized its dedication to accountability, transparency, and the provision of quality technical and vocational education services to Liberians.
The move demonstrates the government’s commitment to strengthening institutions and promoting good governance.
