Tweah Acquittal Under Fire: Juror Alleges Jury Forelady Had Romantic Ties to Solicitor General Augustine Fayiah

MONROVIA – A juror testifying in an investigation into alleged tampering during the acquittal of former Finance Minister Samuel D. Tweah Jr. has claimed the jury forelady said Solicitor General Cllr. Augustine Fayiah was her boyfriend.

According to testimony reported by FrontPage Africa, the juror alleged that during sequestration the forelady repeatedly praised Fayiah, describing him as “handsome and well-dressed.”

Solicitor General Fayiah appeared before investigators and denied any personal relationship with the forelady.

He called the allegations “false and misleading.”

The claims are part of an ongoing probe into jury misconduct following Tweah’s May 8, 2026 acquittal by a 9-3 vote on economic sabotage charges related to a $6.2 million national security transfer.

Three jurors who voted guilty previously filed a misconduct affidavit alleging pressure during deliberations.

The investigation remains ongoing and no findings have been released. Both the Ministry of Justice and the judiciary have yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
