Graduates of Tubman University in Harper Maryland County have called for an immediate audit of President Dr. Olu Menjay.

The Graduates under the campaign of restoring transparency and accountability to their institution linked President Menjay to alleged wide range of corruption related issues.

The graduates in a move to ensure effectiveness in their advocacy have complain the Tubman University President to the Liberia Anti Corruption Commission for prompt investigation.

Among others things, they named alleged rampant Corruption, abused of power, mismanagement, nepotism and favoritism among other things which they stated have led to the abandonment of the core mandate of the institution.

The concern graduates also alleged that Dr. Menjay made unilateral decisions in the governance of the University by byepasing the faculty senate and the administrative council which are two statutory structures in the governance of the University.

The complaint to the LACC copy of whom is in our possession also liked Dr. Menjay to total neglect of the academic aspects of the University evidence of the non availability of requisite instrucments, tools and equipment for mechanical and electrical engineering workshop and other related academic issues as well as the alleged neglect of the renovation of key academic structures.

Making reference to alleged Corruption, the concern graduates said Dr. Menjay allegedly in a bid to shell his deeds attempted to manipulate and financially induced some members of the board of trustees to escape rigorous oversight responsibilities by allegedly buying their silence.

They also alleged that the Tubman University President is keeping the names of dismissed employees on the payroll of the University and is diverting funds into his account for personal use over the years.

Other allegations of which the graduates want urgent investigations by the LACC is the arbitrary promotion of staffs due to alleged favoritism and not on merit based and policy driven process including the conspicuous pay rise by the President allegedly to his allies.

At the same time, they pointed out President Menjay’s alleged regular and long absenteeism from the University including using the institution’s resources to go to unauthorized international travels.

Moreover, the concern Tubman University graduates stressed the accusations of constant disrespect, intimidation and humiliation of faculty members as well as senior academic management staff including the Dean of Students.

Speaking more, they also pointed at the alleged awarding of huge cost contracts of public sector investment projects to companies on the University’s campus without the PPCC process.

Highlighting more issues, the graduates cited the $75,000.00 for inter-office requisition software purchased from Manager.io which has a receipt number of 1694-1170.

The amount in question they indicated was alledgelly charged to the university’s Visa card with ending as 4757 on May 13, 2025, at 11:53:16 p.m.

According to reports, the road rehabilitation works in the County was carried out by Rep. P. Mike Jury and Senator James P. Biney on the Tubman University Campus, something, the two Maryland County lawmakers confirmed.

“These lawmakers solely funded all the road rehabilitation works across Harper, They did not ask any institutions or individuals for a dime”, the graduates reemphasized.

On the contrary, a document in our possession with receipt shows that 910 gallons were never purchased.

According to the graduates, a Nigerian business man was alledgedlly coerced to give Olu Menjay a cash receipt as a coverup and money was collected back from the business man.

“For the 160 gallons, they only purchased 35 gallons and received the balance in cash and he coerced the business man to prepare these fake receipts when those items were either not delivered or partially purchased and he lied that he purchased 910 gallons” , they noted.

The concern graduates of Tubman University fear that if the LACC and other relevant authorities of government failed to urgently address the multiple of issues surrounding the University, the institution will crumble at the detriment of the students.

When contacted Dr. Menjay denied all of the allegations levied against him terming it as false and misleading.

Even though he did mention specifics relative to the huge allegations against him but added that these allegations are all works of his detractors who want to undermine the gains that he has achieved at the University over the years
