The Commercial Court at the Temple of Justice has ordered the closure of the facility housing the National Elections Commission, between 9th and 10th Streets in Sinkor for unpaid debt of over U.S 171, 000 dollars to a private company.
The writ of execution was issued against the NEC on August 19, 2025 for its failure to pay M-TOSH Prints Media Inc. for business services rendered to the Commission several months ago – a judgement liability of U.S $171,105.00 dollars.
Signed by the associate Judge of the Court, Chan-Chan Peagar, the writ instructs the sheriff to grab and expose NEC’s movable assets including, land, goods, and chattels for sale to generate the full amount.
If those assets aren’t enough, the court also allows the seizure of NEC’s real property.
The writ also requires NEC’s Chairperson, Davidetta Brown Lansanah, along with other authorized NEC commissioners, to appear before the judge if a payment or settlement hasn’t been arranged.
