Cheers and jubilation characterized the honoring ceremony of Sekou Kalasco Damaro on February 22, 2025.
The former Presidential Aide whose humanitarian assistance did not go unnoticed by the local saw him recognized by scores of residents of Morris’s Farm.
“When I started paying a lot of children’s school fees in that community and provided them machines to wash cars and motorbikes, it was not based on wanting to be gowned by the parents or receive anything in return for my efforts, but they decided to do it. We appreciate and will continue to play our small efforts regardless of how it is interpreted by a few”, he added.
Mr. Damaro who pointed out that he feels good and very happy to be honored and gowned by his people promise to continue his good work despite mix views and misinterpretations in the corridors of the County and general public.
According to him, his continuous gesture is geared towards helping to transform the lives of the locals who continue to battle untold sufferings in the wake of economic crisis .
In the absence of the availability of basic social services for the locals, Sekou through his intervention is gradually impacting the young people in the area through the provision of scholarships as well as self – help empowerment initiatives intended to change their lives.
As he sees the gowning and recognition of his initiatives as a sign of motivation to do more, Sekou is continuing his humatarian and people centered endeavor with the current construction of a brige project in the Mandingo Quarter and Datuta communities in Margibi County.
The bridge upon completion will serve as a source of easy access for the smooth movement of people including putting to an end the old age deplorable bridge situation which over the period affected their mode of transportation and movement especially during the rainy season.
