Monrovia, Liberia – Information Minister Jerolimnek Matthew Piah has criticized Bomi county Senator Edwin Snowe for a recent social media post depicting President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. in a military uniform, questioning the intent behind the post.
Speaking at the Ministry of Information’s press briefing on Tuesday, Minister Piah asked what message Snowe, as a national leader, intended to convey with the post.
He raised concerns about the implications and potential public interpretation of the image, emphasizing that leaders should act responsibly and set positive examples.
Piah urged Liberian leaders, especially former officials, to play constructive roles in national development rather than inciting public misunderstanding among others.
“Leaders should avoid spreading misleading information, especially during times of rising tension or crisis,” he stressed.
