Ministry of Justice Confirms Suicide of Former Boulevard Place Hotel Manager

The Ministry of Justice has officially confirmed that the death of Mr. Anwar Futloo, former Manager of Boulevard Place Hotel in Monrovia, was a suicide following the conclusion of an autopsy investigation.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry on Tuesday, an autopsy was requested in connection with Mr. Futloo’s alleged suicide. The examination was conducted on January 7, 2025, by state pathologist Dr. Benedict Kolee at St. Moses Funeral Parlours on Somalia Drive. The autopsy was carried out in the presence of Mr. Futloo’s family members, law enforcement officers, and mortuary attendants.

The Ministry stated that the autopsy report determined the cause of death as “unnatural” and consistent with a self-directed action. Based on the findings, the authorities concluded that Mr. Futloo died by suicide.

“In view of the above and relying on the results of the autopsy conducted, the Ministry of Justice hereby informs the public that Mr. Futloo died of suicide,” the statement noted.

The Ministry further indicated that the matter is now considered closed, unless new information emerges that would warrant an additional investigation.
