Monrovia – President Joseph Boakai has directed the Liberia Tourism Authority (LTA) to put the recently announced fee structure on hold, citing the need for further consultation and review.

The decision aims to ensure the new fees support the country’s tourism development goals without placing an undue burden on industry stakeholders.

The proposed fees, which were slated for implementation, have sparked debate among tourism operators, hoteliers, and other industry players.

The President’s intervention suggests a willingness to revisit the policy and engage with stakeholders.

The LTA is expected to provide further guidance on the way forward, including possible revisions to the fee structure.

The move underscores President Boakai’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for tourism growth and development in Liberia.
