Duazon, Margibi County – Wilfred J.S. Bangura, II has resigned as Secretary General and member of the Citizens Movement for Change (CMC), effective immediately.

In a letter dated April 9, 2026 to National Chairman James M.V. Yougie, Bangura cited a need to align with his core political values as the reason for his departure.

Bangura expressed gratitude for the relationships built during his tenure and acknowledged the efforts of CMC members in laying the party’s foundation.

He wished the party well in its pursuit of a more prosperous, equitable, and just society.

The resignation highlights potential internal divisions within CMC, a party focused on promoting democratic values and citizen participation in Liberia’s governance.

Bangura’s departure may impact the party’s dynamics and future direction.
