MONROVIA, Montserrado County –– the Minister of Information Jerolinmek Paih has called on Liberians, including politicians and ordinary citizens, to put politics aside and submit credible evidence related to the reported US$19 million drug seizure at Roberts International Airport.
Speaking Tuesday at the Ministry’s regular press briefing, Minister Paih said anyone with proof implicating current government officials or other individuals should present it to relevant authorities and the public to aid the ongoing probe.
“If you have evidence, bring it forward. This investigation is about facts, not political accusations,” he stated.
The Minister clarified that the investigation is not being handled by the Government of Liberia alone but also international partners are actively collaborating with Liberian authorities to ensure a thorough, credible, and transparent process.
He said the involvement of foreign investigators is one reason the case has taken time to conclude.
Government Vows Stronger Anti-Drug Fight:
Minister Paih reaffirmed the administration’s commitment under President Joseph Boakai to intensify the fight against illicit drugs in Liberia.
He assured the public that those found responsible will be held accountable regardless of status or political affiliation.
The $19 million drug seizure at RIA has sparked widespread public debate and accusations, with several politicians demanding accountability from the government.
