
The Speaker of the Mano River Youth Parliament, Liberia Chapter , Mr. Daniel N. Nills, has strongly condemned the act of bringing down the Cape Mount flag at the capital building.
Speaking on the Piso Morning Show, Mr. Nills expressed his disapproval of the actions carried out by some young individuals from the county.
He emphasized that he does not support such behavior, especially as it undermines the representation of the county at the lower house of representatives.
Mr. Nills highlighted the fact that the under-representation of Cape Mount in the lower house was the main reason behind this unfortunate incident.
He further explained that the young people’s disenchantment and disappointment with the county’s legislative officials led them to take drastic action.
It can be recorded, In a moment of protest and frustration on a live video on Facebook, some young people of Grand Cape Mount county gathered at the Monrovia Capital Building and brought down the County Flag of Grand Cape Mount at the lower House of Representatives in demand of Mineral Development Agreement.
The live video which also captured the Speaker of the Mano River Union Youth Parliament was seen with some young people displaying the county flag to him.

They however alleged, the county has no representation in the House of Parliament.
In relation to this incident, two individuals were arrested and incarcerated at the Liberia National Police head office. Mr. Nills took the opportunity to call upon Senator Sherman and Taylor to intervene and seek the release of these individuals.
Overall, the Mano River Union Youth Parliament Speaker’s statement reflects his strong condemnation of the act of bringing down the Cape Mount flag, while also urging for the involvement of influential figures to resolve the situation.
