Gbarnga, Bong County – A 45-year-old woman, Mercy Kerkulah, is fighting for her life after allegedly developing severe complications following a surgical procedure at C.B. Dunbar Hospital in May 2025.
Kerkulah, a resident of Zeanzue Town, District #6, Bong County, underwent surgery at the hospital on May 4, 2025, during which she delivered a baby.
However, she began experiencing severe health issues two months later, which worsened in July 2025.
According to Kerkulah, hospital officials informed her that fluid left in her body during the surgery had caused her stomach to enlarge significantly, leading to intense pain, breathing difficulties, and other physical distress.
“I am suffering from a lot of pain, and my stomach has grown so big that I cannot breathe properly or eat,” Kerkulah said in an interview from her sickbed.
The administration of C.B. Dunbar Hospital confirmed Kerkulah’s visit to the facility but declined to provide further medical details, citing the authority of the hospital’s Medical Director.
Kerkulah is appealing for urgent medical assistance as her condition continues to deteriorate.
Family members and residents of Zeanzue Town are calling on well-meaning Liberians and citizens of Bong County for immediate intervention to save her life.
