The Liberia Revenue Authority has honored and recognized, Arcelormittal Liberia as the top Tax complaint company.
At the National Taxpayers appreciation ceremony organized by the LRA, AML dominated the awards, walking away with four plagues in four top categories including the Highest custom duty paid concessionaires of 2022.
Due to the 2023, general and Presidential elections, the awards ceremony was a combined one recognizing and appreciating individuals, institutions and businesses for being tax complaint over the period.
Speaking in a happy and proud mood whilst receiving the plagues, the Head of Sustainability and external relations of AML, Marcus Wleh thanked the LRA for recognizing and honoring the AML for being tax complaint over the years.
Mr. Wleh who also appreciated the LRA through the Government of Liberia for creating the enabling environment in which they are operating also commended his fellow honorees for accomplishing such milestone.
” Tax compliance is a big matter as such, we also commend the LRA for being patient with us whilst working with us to ensure that we become Tax complaint”, he noted.
AML, he assured the LRA and the Country in general will continue to be Tax compliant emphasizing that , they will win more tax awards next year.
At the same time, Mr. Wleh used the ocassion to encourage his follow colleagues and Liberians in general to work together and ensure that they continue to remain tax compliant in order to help improve the Country.
Wleh also appreciated the AML’s workforce for their diligence, commitment and support to their duties even though they are being paid for the level of work done but their sacrifices, he stated worth commendation especially in helping to transform their respective communities.
Meanwhile, on the overall and in its category respectively, AML top the awards over its counterparts, Bea Mountain and Firestone among others while the honorees were given one year tax clearance by the LRA as a means of encouraging and motivating them to do more within the sector.
